Tony Romo quit golf a year ago

Tony Romo is will not be playing any golf during his rehab. In fact the Dallas Cowboys quarterback has given up on the game.

“It’s been awhile,” Romo said via the Dallas Morning News. “Almost a year and a half.’’

Romo underwent a microdisecthomy to repair a herniated lumbar disk in late December missing the Cowboys final game of 2013. Currently the team has been limiting the number of throws he can make but all signs point to him being healthy by the time training camp rolls around.

It is all football now for Romo who said he only played golf for two months a year anyway.

“I don’t think about it as [giving up] golf. It’s just life. You want to give yourself the best chance to succeed on the football field.’’
