The Mike Goodson experiment in New York is nearing its end. On Tuesday the running back again skipped mandatory minicamp.

Should Goodson skip all three days he could earn $70,000 in fines. Rehabbing a torn ACL the 27-year-old Goodson is expected to be released by the Jets whether he attended or not.

Signed last March the Jets had hoped that Goodson would prove to be a valuable addition to their backfield. Instead he was arrested in May for drug and weapon offenses earning a four game suspension. When he actually saw the field he was there only briefly before tearing his ACL.

Goodson appeared in just two games last season rushing for 61 yards and catching two passes for 19 yards. With the addition of Chris Johnson in the offseason, Goodson had been pushed to fourth on the depth chart.

While Goodson could land in training camp elsewhere, its just as likely that he joins a group of castoffs who audition though-out the year.
