Houston Texans offensive tackle David Quessenberry will be placed on the NFL’s Non-Football Illness List after being diagnosed with lymphoma.
The Texans broke the news on their twitter account.
“We are extremely confident in the care and treatment David will receive. He is a fighter and a courageous young man.” said Texans general manager Rick Smith in a statement.
“We look forward to his full and complete recovery. We will continue to support him and his family.”
Quessenberry, 23, was a sixth round pick of the Texans in 2013. He suffered a season ending foot injury last September which cost him the entire season.
