Donald Trump may indeed buy the Buffalo Bills.
According to Erie County Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy, Trump’s interest is legit.
“It’s very serious,” Langworthy said, via USA Today. “He’s long had an interest in professional sports.”
Langworthy says acquiring the Bills could cost Trump $1 million. It is also unclear if Trump would work by himself or if he would be part of a group looking to make a bid.
“If he wanted to buy the Bills himself,” said Michael Cohen, a lawyer for Trump, “it would not be a problem.”
Any purchase of the Bills by Trump would likely mean that the team would stay in Buffalo and could come together rather quickly.
“It seems to be something that will happen in a matter of just a few months,” Langworthy said. “The team and trust are currently putting appropriate paperwork together, and the evaluation of the team, before they formally solicit bids for the purchase.”
