The Carolina Panthers have added a wide receiver to their roster by signing Jason Avant to a one-year deal.
Avant had scant interest since being released by the Philadelphia Eagles in early March. The Panthers are looking for inexpensive options to go with talent they are expected to take in the draft. Avant will not be a big playmaker in Carolina but he could be a good compliment.
