Steve Smith to wear “Smith Jr” on jersey, meets with fan

Steve Smith is now a member of the Baltimore Ravens, and the team already have one receiver named Smith.

The Ravens have Torrey Smith. While they could have gone the “T. Smith” and “S. Smith” route Steve instead will wear Sr on the back on his jersey. (We can only assume it’s not to recognize that he is old.)

Smith has a son, Steveonne. Some fans quickly pointed out to Smith that Titus Young was the first to place “SR” on his jersey to which Smith replied that this was his first jersey with “SR” on it.

He also visited with young fan Gavin Simone on Thursday, presenting him a jersey.

“Had to meet him and hook him up with some new Ravens gear,” Smith said on Good Morning America.

You may remember 7-year-old Gavin from this video which went viral at the time of Smith’s release from the Carolina Panthers.

Gavin is also going to attend Smith’s camp in Charlotte this spring.

Smith finished last season with 64 catches for 745 yards and four touchdowns.
