Cincinnati Begnals head coach Marvin Lewis will not spend the 2014 season as a potential lame duck head coach. On Friday it was announced that the Bengals had given the 55-year-old a one-year extension though the 2015 season.
It is rare to see a head coach to into a lame duck season, Lewis will also avoid that situation.
Already Lewis is the winningest coach in Bengals franchise history even if they have a 0-5 record in the playoffs. If he wants to see his contract extended beyond 2015 he will need to win in the playoffs. The Bengals have made the playoffs in each of the last three seasons.
