The Cleveland Browns are in search for a quarterback as the NFL Draft approaches but the team is expected to consider free agent options as well. Two options could be Matt Schaub and Rex Grossman who both have previously worked with Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
A report from Cleveland.com, says it’s a “serious possibility” that the team will sign Schaub to compete with Brian Hoyer for their quarterback job.
CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora says that it’s all but certain that the Browns will add either Schaub or Grossman.
Schaub played some of his best football under Shanahan and would instantly be a threat to start. All that stands in the way is the Texans releasing him.
If Grossman was signed he would simply be viewed as a signal caller. If the Browns do sign one, whomever it is will shed a ton of light on the draft plans.
The Browns have the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft.
