The Green Bay Packers and cornerback Sam Shields have reached terms on a four-year deal.
Shields, 26, will receive $39 million over the course of the contract according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
As part of the deal, $12.5 million of that total will be paid via a signing bonus. He will be paid a $2.5 million salary in 2014. Shields will earn $6 million in 2015 and $9 million in 2016.
Last season Shields recorded 61 tackles, defended 16 passes and intercepted four passes in 2013. He has been a member of the Packers since 2010.
