The Minnesota Vikings have signed quarterback Matt Cassell to a two-year deal.
Cassell, 31, will make $10 million over the course of the deal. He immediately becomes the favorite to begin 2014 as the starter for the Vikings after throwing for 1,807 yards and 11 touchdowns.
So much for Adrian Peterson’s plea to sign Michael Vick.
The re-signing of Cassell does not take the Vikings out of the running for a signal caller in the draft. They have the No. 8 draft pick.
