The Houston Texans are still expected to select UCF quarterback Blake Bortles with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. It was a month ago that Bortles began to emerge as a potential top pick by the Texans.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle says there is no way the Texans do not select a quarterback with the first overall draft.
“I’ve been saying 4 weeks and I will say until I believe differently, but the Texans are taking a quarterback,” tweeted McClain. “I’ll be shocked if they don’t.”

Bortles has been creating some separation lately from the other top quarterbacks in the draft. Teddy Bridgewater appears to be at No. 2 now with Johnny Manziel dropping lately with more and more scouts questioning his size and skill-set.
