Greg Hardy is the best pass rusher available in free agency and he wants to be paid that way reports Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Hardy, 26, wants a bigger contract than the one that the Carolina Panthers gave Charles Johnson in 2011. Johnson landed a six-year deal worth $78 million, of which $32 million was guaranteed.
While the Panthers could place the franchise tag on Hardy the $12.5 million cost would eat up all of their salary cap space.
Hardy had 15 sacks and made 5 tackles while forcing a fumble in 2013.
