Report: Cowboys not letting Bill Callahan out of contract

The Dallas Cowboys may hire Scott Linehan to call plays but that does not mean that offensive coordinator Bill Callahan will be let go.

Callahan was hired before the 2013 season as the Cowboys took play calling duties away from head coach Jason Garrett. While he entered the season widely respected in his abilities to call an offense the Cowboys offense seemed confused and out of sync much of the year.

A similar situation has unfolded on the defensive side of the ball with Rod Marinelli who was not allowed to interview for the defensive coordinator spot in Tampa Bay. Marinelli will return to coach the Cowboys defensive line in 2014.
