DeMarco Murray is entering the final year of his rookie contract but that does not guarantee him an extension.
Murray will turn 26 next month. He led all rushers in yards per carry in 2013 with 5.17 on his way to 1,124 yards becoming the first Cowboys running back to top 1,000 yards since 2006.
ESPN Dallas blogger Calvin Watkins says “It’s doubtful if the Cowboys will look to extend Murray’s contract” but that does not mean the team will draft a running back.
It’s a situation worth monitoring.
