Former Dallas Cowboys DT Josh Brent has been convicted of intoxicated manslaughter for the death of former teammate Jerry Brown.
Brent faces up to 20 years in prison but could be allowed out on probation.
In December 2012 Brent lost control of his Mercedes in a Dallas suburb with Brown as a passenger. Brent’s blood-alcohol level was 0.18 shortly after the crash, twice the legal limit in Texas.
Brent retired from the NFL last year. Stacey Jackson, the mother of Brown, has said she has forgiven Brent and could speak at his sentencing.
