Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Akeem Spence was arrested Tuesday on drug chargers following a traffic stop according to a report from NorthEscamba.com.
Spence, 22, was found to be in the possession of marijuana after he was stopped by an Alabama state trooper why driving at a speed over 100 mph. He was released on $3,000 bond.
The Buccaneers drafted Spence in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year deal worth $2,644,424. He spent three years at the University of Illinois before turning pro.
Spence appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers this season, starting 14 of them. He finished the season qwith 29 tackles and a sack. He also recovered a fumble in a Week 1 loss to the New York Jets.
