Kirk Cousins trade value plummets with another stinker

Remember when Kirk Cousins was considered worth a second-round pick?

Yeah…. that is the case with backup quarterbacks. They are considered better the less they play.

In Sunday’s season finale against the New York Giants the second-year Cousins was a mere 10-of-49 for 169 yards and two interceptions. The Redskins lost to fall to 3-13 earning the St. Louis Rams the second draft pick of the season.

Cousins was just 69-of-130 passes (53.0 percent) for 747 yards with four touchdowns and five interceptions during the 2013 season. After a good showing against the Atlanta Falcons three weeks ago, Cousins put up two poor showings against Dallas and New York.

The poor showing from Cousins should keep him as the clipboard holder in Washington for 2014 even if Mike Shanahan gets fired.
