Even with a big deficit the Houston Texans were not about to pull Case Keenum from the quarterback position.

In eight games since taking over the Matt Schaub the undrafted Keenum is 0-8. Interim head coach Wade Phillips spoke about Keenum’s struggles after the game and the word that he focused on was “rough.”

“He had a rough game,” interim coach Wade Phillips said, via Houston Chronicle. “He certainly had a rough game.”

Phillips never made the move to pull Keenum. It’s doubtful the head coach can as Keenum was announced as the teams quarterback for the rest of the season the same time Phillips was introduced as interim head coach.

The Texans have moved on from Schaub and its becoming clear that Keenum is not an answer for them either.

“It’s tough,” Keenum said. “There (are) a lot of things that are tough right now, and we have no choice but to battle on and stick together and push forward.”
