The Carolina Panthers have confirmed that running back Jonathan Stewart has a torn MCL.
While the Panthers are holding out hope that Stewart can return by the end of the regular season the team is doubtful to see Stewart until the start of the playoffs and even that is a stretch.
Panthers spokesman says Jonathan Stewart did tear his MCL.

DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert will continue to get the carries in the Panthers backfield for the time being.
In six games this season Stewart has 180 yards rushing and 44 yards receiving.
