Cierre Wood passed drug test following release from Texans

Cierre Wood took and passed a drug test shortly after he was cut from the Houston Texans reports FOX Sports.

As  the report goes, Wood coordinated the test with the NFL Players Association which he took last Monday. Wood, linerbacker Willie Jefferson and defensive end Sam Montgomery were cut last Monday for violating unspecified team rules during the Texans road trip to face Kansas City on Oct. 20.

ESPN previously reported that the three players were let go because of marijuana use but the tests for Wood and Montgomery both came back negative for the drug.

Wood likely would have been receiving increased playing time with the Texans if he was still on the roster. Both Arian Foster and Ben Tate are dealing with injuries.

Both Montgomery and Wood have been visiting other teams since their release.
