Just a week after Matt Flynn looked awful as the starter of the Oakland Raiders the team has released him.

On Monday the Raiders released Flynn after dropping him to third string prior to Sunday’s game against San Diego.

With Terelle Pryor back under center for the Raiders the team likely figured it was time to just get rid of Flynn who is guaranteed $5.5 million this season.

In two games with the Raiders FLynn was 22-of-34 for 246 yards with a touchdown, an interception and three fumbles.

Flynn has not proven to be a starting quarterback in the NFL but could land back in Green Bay where he has previously backed-up Aaron Rodgers.
