New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola will avoid surgery for a possible sports hernia.
The Boston Herald reports Amendola will not undergo sports-hernia surgery, and is expected back in a “few weeks.”
Amendola’s status going forward appears week to week but that was assumed when the Patriots signed him via free agency.
In Week 1 the 27-year-old Amendola caught 10 passes for 104 yards.
