The NFC North match-up between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions figures to be a good one.

After nearing breaking the single season rushing record Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has said that the record will be his this season. Detroit will look to stop the dynamic running back and showcase their record setting wide receiver Calvin Johnson.

The game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions will take place at Ford Field in Detroit, MI with kickoff to come shortly after 1:00 pm ET.

The Detroit Lions are a 5 point favorite against the Minnesota Vikings. The Over/Under is 46.5 total points.

The Lions added Reggie Bush who is out to prove he can be an every down back in the NFL. In addition the Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is out to prove he can beat winning teams. Stafford saw his touchdown numbers drop from 41 to 20 last season something that will need to improve if the Lions are to make much of a move from their 4-12 record last season.

While Peterson is considered to be a great asset the Vikings will need more out of their defense this season after they fell to the middle of the pack in many statistical categories last season. Another area the Vikings will be looking for improvement will be at quarterback where there are questions about what Christian Ponder can and cannot do in regards to winning games.

Vikings or Lions? Who you got and why?
