The quarterback situation in Buffalo is a mess. The Bills have injuries to both E.J. Manuel and Kevin Kolb.

Manuel has a knee injury which hardly makes him a sure bet to start in Week 1. Kolb on the other hand is dealing with another concussion and Tim Graham of the Buffalo News reports that the Bills are fearful that it may end his NFL career.

The Bills had hoped to have a competition for the starting job between the free agent pick up and rookie draft pick but instead have struggled to keep either healthy.

While the Bills hold up hope that Manuel can return for their season opener they have been forced to add depth at the position.

The latest addition to the Bills roster is Matt Leinart. With Manuel and Kolb both questionable there is a chance that the now 30-year-old Leinart could start in the Bills Week 1 match-up against New England.

Last season Leinart appeared in two games for the Oakland Raiders going 16-of-33 for 115 yards and an interception. The Raiders deemed him unworthy of a roster spot and let him go at the end of the season.

The season has not even started and already it is shaping up to be a rough one in Buffalo.
