After being taken off the field in an ambulance on Saturday night, Derek Wolfe has passed the first round of tests given to him to check for an injury.
Wolfe started all 16 games for the Broncos last season but was injured in the first quarter of the teams second preseason game on Saturday.
The injury occurred when Wolfe has cut low on a block from Seahawks tight end Luke Wilson and took a follow-up blow at the neck from fullback Michael Robinson.
Right now the situation is still evolving but Mike Klis of the Denver Post passed along some positive news late Saturday night.
Exhale Broncos: So far all tests on Derek Wolfe are negative. Running a battery of tests: MRI, X-rays, CT. So far negative.

Klis went on to say that the Broncos were hopeful he would be on the flight back to Denver later in the night. (Denver is in Mountain Time)
If all goes well the 23-year-old Wolfe should be able to take the field in Week 1.
