The Cleveland Browns will not have Dion Lewis when the season beings.
Lewis, 22, had seemingly locked up the backup running back job for the Browns prior to the injury which occurred during Thursday’s preseason game against the Detroit Lions.
The third-year player was carted off the field Thursday night. Lewis ran five times for 33 yards and had caught four passes for 15 yards in the game.
Dion Lewis has fractured fibula.

With Lewis out of the picture the Browns will likely turn to Brandon Jackson as the backup to Trent Richardson. Chris Ogbonnaya and even Montario Hardesty could also see time carrying the ball.
