Brandon Moore to retire, won’t join Cowboys

Brandon Moore has retired. The new comes one day after Moore agreed to a one-year contact with the Dallas Cowboys.

Moore, 33, was set to get on a plane but could not leave his family. The Cowboys were informed of Moore’s decision on Wednesday morning.

“I hated letting [Cowboys OC and OL coach] Bill [Callahan] down.” Said Moore.

There had been rumors that Moore was considering retirement earlier this offseason but the 2011 Pro Bowler shot those rumors down.

Moore spent his entire NFL career with the New York Jets making 142 starts. The news leaves the Cowboys on the lookout for a left guard.
