Charles Woodson will wear No. 24 for the Oakland Raiders this season. Woodson wore the number when he played for Oakland from 1998-2005 before wearing No 21 while a member of the Green Bay Packers.
The No. 24 previously belonged to Tracy Porter.
Porter suggested via Twitter that he did not give up the number willingly.
Well you Raiders fans…your guy has 24. It was TAKEN from me and given to him. #congrats…..too funny how this biz “works”
Porter later elaborted.

Woodson had been trying to work out a deal to get No 24 from Porter but recently admitted that negotiations had stalled.
Porter will now wear No. 31 for the Raiders. Woodson had been wearing No. 2 in practice.
