The Dallas Cowboys will not cut Josh Brent even as the NT was sent to jail on Thursday for his second failed drug test.
Brent was charged with the drunk driving and testing positive for marijuana during an automobile accident that killed teammate Jerry Brown last season. Brent is still awaiting trail on those charges.
The Cowboys are not paying Brent anything at this point and the NFL seems certain to suspend him for a year even if he jail time for the death of ball. ESPN’s Ed Werder reported two weeks ago that the Cowboys were holding out hope that Brent would one day be able to help them on the football field.
Brent appeared in 39 games with the Cowboys from 2010 though 2012.
