The Dallas Cowboys and Anthony Spencer have ended contract talks. Spencer is coming off the best season of his career after recording 11 sacks and 95 tackles last season. Spencer turns 30 in January.

Salary-cap concerns in Dallas have prevented the Cowboys from paying Spencer the top dollar he will demand.

The two sides have three weeks to work out an extension but all signs point to Spencer becoming a free agent at the end of the 2013 season.

Under the franchise tag, Spencer will make $10.6 million this season.
