Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters was arrested early Wednesday in Monroe, LA.

Acording to a police affidavit two cars accelerated at a high speed when a traffic light turned green at  U.S. 165 North and Central Street around 4:45 a.m.

While the other driver pulled over, Peters attempted to flee in his white Camaro before pulling over in a shopping center. Peters was then handcuffed and transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Peters was booked on drag racing and resisting by flight, police said.

“We are aware of the reports that Jason Peters was arrested this morning in Louisiana,” the Eagles said in a statement. “We have been in contact with Jason and due to the legal nature of this matter, we will not have any further comment at this point.”

Peters is a five time Pro-Bowl player but missed the entire 2012 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon last March.
