Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Mike Adams is recovering from surgery after a stabbing in the stomach early Saturday. Adams was stabbed in an attempted robbery of his truck in Pittsburgh. The incident is under investigation by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

“From what I understand, he was very fortunate,” said Adams’ agent Eric Metz.”The knife missed some vital organs.”

Metz said that Adams will be unable to perform football activities for six weeks.

Adams, who was stabbed twice, also realizes he was lucky.

“I had an angel lookin out for me!” he wrote on his Twitter account. “(I’ll) be ok just gotta fight to get back harder then ever.”

Three men are said to have approached Adams as he was sitting on the back of his track. It may not be hard to find the men responsible as one is said to have dropped his cellphone at the scene.

Barring any setbacks, Adams should be ready to go for Week 1 of the NFL season.
