Former NFL player Mike Williams will head to the Canadian Football League in hopes of resuming his football career. Williams did not play during the 2012 season after spending the last two years with the Seattle Seahawks.

Williams was a first round pick of the Detroit Lions in 2005 but weight and off the field issues derailed his NFL career. He eventually found his way to Seattle and former USC coach Pete Carroll.

In 2010, Williams surprisingly led Seattle in receptions with 65 catches for 751 yards and two touchdowns. The following year Williams was unable to stay healthy and managed just 18 catches for 236 yards and a touchdown.

Before the 2012 season the Seahawks released Williams.

On Thursday it was announced that Williams had signed with the  Toronto Argonauts.

While it is not the NFL, Williams move to the CFL is better then where one Seahawks backup QB found himself recently.
