Drew Stanton becomes favorite to start for Cardinals at QB

Drew Stanton served as the backup quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts last season. During that time new Cardinals head coach Bruce Arian’s served as the Colts offensive coordinator.

Now the two will rejoin forces in Arizona. Stanton agreed to a three-year deal with the Cardinals and immediately becomes the favorite to start at quarterback.

At 29 years of age Stanton has great arm strength and can scramble but has never been an accurate passer. While he may be the teams starter this year he is not a long term solution.

Arizona still must make a decision on Kevin Kolb. Kolb is likely to be released unless his contract is renegotiated. John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Brian Hoyer are also on the roster.
