The Seattle Seahawks signed Matt Flynn last offseason and then drafted Russell Wilson. Flynn was expected to be the teams starter but soreness in his throwing elbow and the surprising skills of Wilson relegated him to a backup role.

While Flynn wants to be a stater in the league a trade of him will not be easy. That does not mean that he will be released though.

According to Ian Rapoport there have been some interest in Flynn but the inquiring teams have had concerns about his elbow. Sources have said that the elbow is fine.

With their trade for Alex Smith the Chiefs can be ruled out of this one leaving behind the Jaguars, Jets and Browns as teams who could attempt to acquire Flynn. Right now the Seahawks have no intention of releasing Flynn.

Flynn has little experience as a starter in the NFL and ate age 27 his return should be considerably less then the one the 49ers got for Smith,
