Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver is set to retire on Feb 6, 2013 according to a team press release. Driver is the Packers all-time leading receiver in receptions and yards. He was a member of the Super Bowl XLV Championship team.
Driver was a part of three Pro Bowl teams and had seven seasons where he had over 1,000 yards at WR.
“I played my entire career in Green Bay and have always enjoyed a special bond with the fans,” said Driver. “I can think of no better way to retire than to celebrate with them and the Packers organization.”
Driver will retire at a public event that is taking place in the Lambeau Field Auditorium. Fans can get free tickets starting on Feb 1 at the ticket office.
Driver has been a member of the Packers for 14 years. When he was asked if he would ever change his mind and come back, he said, “I’m not coming back. I’m at peace.”
