Cowboys lose Carter to IR while Scandrick may miss weeks

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 5-6 after a Thanksgiving Day disaster against the Washington Redskins. They also continued to pile up injured players.

Bruce Carter has joined fellow Cowboys’ linebacker Sean Lee on the injured reserve list. Before suffering an elbow injury, Carter had 80 tackles in 11 games. Without Lee and Carter the Cowboys will have to play their remaining schedule without either of their inside linebackers to start the season.

The Cowboys will continue to use Dan Connor and Ernie Sims as the teams inside linebackers. They also signed Brady Poppinga. Poppinga has not played in the NFL since last season with St. Louis.

Cowboys’ corner Orlando Scandrick is expected to miss several weeks after fracturing his hand. Mike Jenkins will step into the role that Scandrick occupied.
