Vick says Reid is thinking of replacing him at quarterback

The Philadelphia Eagles are not playing up to their expectations. Michael Vick has received the bulk of the criticism that has been leveled on the offense and for good reason. Vick has been a turnover machine this season with eight interceptions and nine fumbles, five of which have been lost.

“Obviously, (Andy Reid) is thinking about making a change at quarterback,” Vick said Sunday. “If he makes that decision, I support it.”

Reid did not say if he was thinking about making a change at the quarterback position but he did not give an endorsement of Vick either. Reid said following the game that he would evaluate everything.

It is widely known that the Eagles are expected to make the playoffs by upper management and failing to do so will be grounds for Reids dismissal. Reid may view Vick as his best option at quarterback as his backup is rookie Nick Foles. Starting a rookie quarterback midway though a season in which you are expected to make the playoffs would hamper meeting those expectations.
