Giants storm out to early lead, then hang on to beat Cowboys 29-24

The Cowboys committed six turnovers that led to 23 points for the Giants. Still, the game came down to the final seconds. Dez Bryant caught what appeared to be a game winning touchdown on a hail mary but it was called back after replays showed Bryant’s hand touched out of bounds.

Stevie Brown picked off two passes and recovered a fumble for the New York Giants. It was three of six turnovers committed by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday as they fell to 3-4 a staggering three games behind the Giants in the win column.

The New York Giants stormed off to a sizable lead in their Sunday game against the Dallas Cowboys. Aided by three interceptions by Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo the Giants took a 23-0 lead. The Cowboys fought back putting together a 72 yard drive that ended with a four yard touchdown run by Felix Jones. They added a field goal to cut the lead to 23-10 at the half.

Tony Romo ran for a one yard touchdown which capped a 86 yard drive to start the third quarter. Minutes later the Cowboys tied up the game on a one yard pass from Romo to tight-end John Phillips. The Cowboys successfully converted the point after and took a 24-23 lead.

The Giants appeared as out of sync in the third quarter as the Cowboys had been in the first. The fourth quarter started and Eli Manning directed the Giants on a drive to re-take he lead, 26-24.

Felix Jones would commit a fumble on the ensuing drive for Dallas resulting in another field goal for the Giants.

That gave Tony Romo a chance to lead the Cowboys on his 15th career fourth quarter comeback. Romo started the drive hitting receivers in a flurry of passes. The Cowboys made it inside the Giants twenty yard line with just over a minute remaining. It was there that the Cowboys drive ended as Romo throw his fourth interception of the game. The recipient of the pass was Brown.

The Cowboys had one more chance to win the game as they got the ball back with just under a minute left. That set up the Hail Mary pass to Bryant that was called back. Bryant did not immediately return to the field following the failed Hail Mary, he was shown hobbling on the sideline. Bryant would return for the final play.

Jason Whitten set a Cowboys single game record with 18 receptions. The Cowboys had three receivers top 100 yards. The Giants moved to 4-0 at the Cowboys stadium.
