JT Barrett breaks ankle, done for season

Ohio State fans have a new reason to hate Michigan. In Saturday’s win Heisman hopeful J.T. Barrett suffered a broken ankle.

Barrett is now done for the season. He becomes the second Buckeyes quarterback to be lost for the season following behind Braxton Miller.

“We lost a Heisman candidate today,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said after the game, via ESPN.

Sophomore backup Cardale Jones will start in next Saturday’s Big Ten championship game when the East winning Buckeyes the winner of the west, either Wisconsin or Minnesota.

“The good thing is, he’s going to get a lot of reps,” Meyer said of Jones.

Barrett, who led the nation with 42 total touchdowns entering the game, completed 13 of 21 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for two touchdowns while tallying 89 yards on 15 carries.
