A former Troy football palyer has been accused of murder and is being held in a Pike County Jail.

Dimitri Miles, 21, was charged Sunday in an off-campus shooting that left a 26-year-old man dead.

Miles did not play for Troy this season because he was academically ineligible. He started seven games in 2012. The school has suspended him from school and the football team.

Miles is accused of murdering Marquise Jermaine McLendon of Troy, The Messenger reported. He’s being held on a $100,000 bond.
