Greg Oden has been arrested in Indianapolis on battery charges alleging that he punched a woman in the face.

A police report says officers were called to a home around 3:30 a.m. in the 7200 block of Maple Bluff Place where they found a woman on a bed crying with a bloody face.

Oden allegedly told officers “things got out of control” during an argument with his ex-girlfriend and he punched her in the face as others tried to hold him back.

According to the report, Oden told police that he dated the female for two years, and they broke up about two months ago. A relative that talked to police said that every time the two go out there’s an argument between the two.

Oden was apologetic, according to the report.

“I was wrong, and I know what has to happen,” Oden said.

Oden was taken to the processing center where his initial hearing will be held today, where he faces preliminary charges of battery.

Oden last played basketball in 2013 with the Miami Heat, playing in 23 games and averaging 2.9 points.
