New Orleans Pelicans Tyreke Evans could return to action in seven to ten days according to Coach Monty Williams on Friday. His return depends on how his ankle is feeling, but it is good news and Evans should be ready for opening night.
Evans could not put any weight on his ankle and was carried to the locker room during the game on Saturday Oct. 5. X-rays ruled out a break, and he underwent an MRI that confirmed that Evans sustained a sprain.
“I’ll hopefully be ready for sure before the first game of the season,” Evans said. “I just got to get treatment and take care of my foot and I’ll be ready to go.”
Evans will come off the bench and will be in the running for Sixth Man of the Year.
