It seemed almost certain that New York Mets pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard would make his debut at some point this season. However Syndergaard has struggled at Triple-A Las Vegas posting a 5.70 ERA and Mets manager Terry Collins is unsure if he will appear with the Mets this year.
“(Stuff) happens — I don’t know any other way to put it,” Collins said. “Injuries, workload. He hasn’t performed maybe to the way we thought he was going to. There’s all sorts of things. . . . I just know, right now, there hasn’t been a discussion of Noah Syndergaard or when he’s coming.” said Collins via the New York Daily News.
Syndergaard has allowed four runs or more in in of his last four starts compiling an 9.33 ERA during that time.
Injuries to his right elbow and left shoulder have also slowed Syndergaard this year. While the Mets surely would like to see him at the big league level they are not about to push things.
