The Cleveland Indians have signed former All-Star Bryan LaHair to a minor league deal.
LaHair, 31, was selected to the All-Star game in 2012 as a member of the Chicago Cubs but found himself playing overseas with the Fukuoska Southbank Hawks in Japan’s Pacific League last year. In his lone season there he hit just .230/.236/.428.
The deal between LaHair and the Indians includes an invitation to Spring Training. He will be trying to win a bench job.
In 195 career big league games LaHair owns a .260/.334/.430 line with 21 home runs and 56 RBI.
