Marlon Byrd was signed to a two-year deal by the Philadelphia Phillies this winter.
Now the team will expect the 36-year-old to play anywhere in the outfield, including center field reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Currently the Phillies will have Ben Revere in center with John Mayberry Jr. the only other option. With that being said the Phillies figure to give Byrd time in center this spring.
Byrd finished the 2013 season with a .291/.336/.511 line with 24 home runs and 88 RBI in 147 games between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates.
