The Yankees have added a veteran catcher to their organization with the signing of Chris Iannetta.
Iannetta, 36, was let go by the Rockies last August and failed to attract any interest elsewhere.
Yankees are close to signing veteran catcher Chris Iannetta to a minor league deal. Played 14 seasons mostly with COL and LAA. Turns 37 in April. Along with Eric Kratz, will provide veteran depth/competition for Kyle Higashioka as backup to Gary Sanchez.

With the Rockies last season Iannetta hit .222/.311/.417 with six homers and 21 RBI across 52 games.
Currently Iannetta is in position to compete for the backup job behind Gary Sanchez.
