On Friday Alex Avila became the latest catcher to sign a deal for the 2020 season.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Avila will make $4.25 million as part of a one-year deal he signed with the Twins.
Set to turn 33 in January, Avila had just a .207/.353/.421 line last season while adding nine home runs in 201 trips to the plate as a member of the Diamondbacks.
Catcher Alex Avila and the Minnesota Twins are in agreement on a one-year, $4.25 million deal, sources tell ESPN. The catching market continues to move quickly, and the veteran left-handed hitter will join the Bomba Squad.

The recent addition of Stephen Vogt by the Diamondbacks closed the door on any chance of a return to Arizona.
