The A’s continued to add to their pitching on Monday adding veteran Mike Fiers.
One day after picking up Sean Kelley in a trade with the Nationals, the A’s have now acquired Fiers from the Tigers for two players to be named later or cash considerations.
The 33-year-old Fiers was rumored to be a target of the A’s prior to the deadline with a deal said to be close but things never came to an agreement. A day later Fiers left a start after taking a line drive off his shin.
On the season Fiers owns a 7-6 record with a 3.48 ERA in 21 starts.
