Josh Donaldson and the Blue Jays were not far apart when arbitration figures were exchanged on Friday.
The reigning AL MVP asked for $11.8 million while the Blue Jays offered the 30-year-old $11.35 million.
Coming off a season in which he hit .297/.371/.568 with 41 home runs, a league-best 123 RBI and an MLB-best 122 runs, Donaldson is expected to again be a big part of the Blue Jays lineup next season.
